Bluish jewels of the great beryl family! 🤍
Emerald's equally famous cousin, its name comes from "aqua marina", which literally means "sea water" and evokes the stone's color.
Their color is light and shallow, ranging from bluish green to blue.
🩵It's iron that colors aquamarine, this element can be reduced (Fe 2+) and will give blue, it can be oxidized (Fe 2+) and will then give yellow. Blue 🩵+ yellow 💛 = green 💚! This shade of green can be cancelled out by heating in reduced condition 🤯
✨ Among the most renowned aquamarines, the intense blue Santa Maria comes from the Santa Maria de Itabira mine in Brazil, discovered in the early 20th century. 💧
